the occidental elements: earth, air, fire, water & spirit.

Witchcraft (and life) is composed of many elemental energies that are used as tools of magick and for Mother Nature worship. There are many different cultures that have differing practices in accordance with the elements. I resonate with the modern occidental elements which are earth, air, fire, water and spirit (also known as ether).

The elements work together to create the magick around us. The element spirit is what allows the other elements to function in unison. Spirit also works with the universal energies. Spirit is the connector of everything.

Each element has different correspondences. The pentacle symbol that is represented by many witches, represents all of the elements. Each point of the star is a different element. The circle around the star represents spirit and the line of life. If you are at the start of your journey as a witch, I recommend getting to know these elements as it will allow you to practice witchcraft more effectively.

time to practice using the occidental elements.

How To:

  • Represent each of them on your altar.

  • Choose a different one each week to learn about. Below is a link to a recommended book: Elemental Magick: Reconnect with Nature thrd Meditationsough Spells, Rituals, an by D.J. Conway

  • Find out which elements are present in your birth chart- click on the link below to access your free birth chart: This is a trusted one that I use all of the time- https://horoscopes.astro-seek.com/sidereal-astrology-chart-calculator#birth-chart I find it is most accurate (in my opinion) to select ‘Placidus’ as the house system and ‘Galactic Center Sag 0 Degrees’ as the Ayanamsa.

  • Take note of the elements that you see around you- notice how much the universe is made up of them, and how they work together to create magick.
